Clear data use, without hidden tracking
Effective 29 August 2026. This notice covers the public application, product analytics, advertising measurement, member accounts, referrals and subscription infrastructure.
Current data processing
The product processes football fixtures, results, transfers, lineups, bookmaker prices, model outputs, and an application pick ledger. When you sign in, it also stores your verified email address, display name, membership plan, subscription status, access timestamps and feature-usage counters needed to provide and protect paid features.
Identity and payments
ChatGPT sign-in is handled by the hosting platform. Passwordless email links and enabled Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft or GitHub sign-in options are handled by Supabase. The Football Simulator does not receive or store account passwords. A secure first-party session cookie keeps verified members signed in. Stripe processes checkout and payment details. The app stores Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, status and renewal information, but not full card numbers.
Referrals
Referral links contain a short random code. If a new member follows one and creates an account within 24 hours, the app stores the referrer and referred account emails, referral status, reward milestone and redemption status. It does not expose either email in the shared link. Stripe subscription status is used to confirm paid conversions and apply earned trial days.
Email updates and marketing
Model-update and promotional emails are optional. The sign-up control is unchecked by default, and the app records the date, source, selected frequency and competition watchlist only after you actively opt in. Free and Pro members receive different editorial content based on their current membership plan. Consent is not required to create an account or use the service.
A new member may receive one non-promotional account email confirming that sign-up succeeded and whether optional model emails are on or off. This service message does not enrol someone in marketing. The app keeps the two purposes separate in both the delivery ledger and the member preference record.
Resend is the delivery processor for automated email. The Namecheap mailbox at support@thefootballsimulator.com remains the reply and support inbox. Delivery records, bounces and suppression status may be processed to keep the list accurate and protect sender reputation. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and preferences can also be changed in the account area.
Product analytics and cookies
The Football Simulator uses PostHog EU to measure visits, page usage, sign-in journeys, competition navigation, simulator engagement, referral sharing, subscription conversion and approved campaign attribution fields such as source, campaign and creative template. Analytics is disabled by default until you choose. If you select Essential only, analytics events are not sent. The app does not send typed form content, account passwords, full page query strings or model questions to PostHog. Autocapture and session recordings are disabled.
If you accept analytics, the site also loads the Meta Pixel for The Football Simulator. It records page views and limited conversion events such as viewing Pro pricing, starting checkout and activating a subscription. This is used to measure Facebook and Instagram ad performance and improve campaign delivery. The pixel is not loaded when you choose Essential only, and the site does not send typed form content, passwords or model questions to Meta.
Your preference is stored in the browser and can be changed using the Cookie settings control. Signed-in users who accept analytics are represented by a pseudonymous identifier rather than their email address.
Technical records
The hosting platform may process standard request information needed to deliver and secure the service, such as IP address, request time, route, browser information and diagnostic logs.
Storage and retention
Forecast snapshots, provider health, odds snapshots, and pick records are retained to prove historical model behavior and performance. Operational logs may be retained by the hosting provider under its platform policies. Account and referral records are kept while needed to provide access, prevent reward abuse and meet legal obligations.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time. Self-service account deletion and data export controls will be added to the account area; until then, the operator can be contacted at support@thefootballsimulator.com. No sensitive personal data should be submitted through model question fields.
